Review: Wanderlust

25 July 2013 by Jess

I had really wanted to see this when it came out, so I was thrilled when I found it on HBO. It was a joy to see Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd together again, and not in a relationship that can never happen (see 1998: The Object of My Affection). The movie begins with the […]

Review: The Five-Year Engagement

18 July 2013 by Jess

This was such a sweet movie. We all know I love Jason Segel, but I’m a big Emily Blunt fan too, so this was kind of a no-brainer. The premise seems a little ridiculous, and the movie does get lost at times during the five year setting. Tom (Segel) proposes to Violet (Blunt) right at […]

Review: Olympus Has Fallen

11 July 2013 by Jess

I don’t often say no to Gerard Butler or Morgan Freeman, so as soon as I saw Butler was playing the hero in this film, I bought in. The movie gets off to a very rocky start, and opens with Butler as Mike Banning, a personal security detail on the President (Aaron Eckhart), on Christmas […]

Wednesday Recap: The Bridge

10 July 2013 by Jess

If you somehow missed the show I’ve been waiting for since I heard about it back in April, you suck and fail at life. I’m not kidding. It was an hour and a half long pilot, and I didn’t even notice. It was that freaking good. I half-assed live-tweeting because I was so engrossed in […]

The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon Episode 8: The Bridge Edition

8 July 2013 by Jess

IT’S HERE!! The new serial killer drama on FX, The Bridge, premieres this Wednesday at 10 PM. AND, lucky us, it’s the big man’s birthday. That’s right! Kevin Bacon was born this day, July 8th, in 1958. So… Happy Birthday, Kevin Bacon! And many more! In honor of the new show, starring one of my […]

Review: The Lone Ranger

8 July 2013 by Jess

I don’t know what people are complaining about with this movie. This thing has 25% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, and I can’t see why 75% of reviewers hated this movie THAT MUCH. (I looked up the stat, but I didn’t read ANY reviews prior to writing my own.) What People May Not Like It […]

The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon Episode 7: Lone Ranger Edition

30 June 2013 by Jess

Upcoming WEDNESDAY release from Disney is The Lone Ranger! I was a little skeptical at first, Disney does the Lone Ranger? And Johnny Depp as Tonto? But, after checking out some trailers and reading about the film, I decided it looks pretty good. Bonus? The guy playing the Lone Ranger is the almost-too-good-looking guy that […]

Review: Now You See Me

26 June 2013 by Jess

Incredibly, I didn’t hear about this movie until about a week or two before it was released. I wasn’t sure about it until I saw Morgan Freeman go on The Daily Show to promote it. He didn’t spend much time talking about the movie, but it convinced me to give it a shot. I’m happy […]

Under the Dome: Series Premiere

25 June 2013 by Jess

I’ve been focusing more on movie reviews this summer since so many series are off for the season (cable excluded), and because my time has been a little scarce to the point that it’s really tough to find time to write those TV recaps as often as I watch the shows. But, I think it’s […]

Review: Much Ado About Nothing

24 June 2013 by Jess

I cannot tell you how lovely this movie was. I was not quite sure what to expect because I’ve never seen Whedon do Shakespeare. Victorian era, sure, but a modern version of Shakespeare? I had complete confidence in his abilities, but I’ve never been seriously into Shakespeare, and I’d never read or seen this particular […]

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
