Wednesday Night: What Ifs and Disobedience

18 April 2013 by Jess

Psych

So last week, Juliet threw a drink in Shawn’s face and stormed out of Lassiter’s wedding when she discovered Shawn’s psychic secret.

This week, Shawn replays that night in his head and experiences a “what if” story, a “simulation”, so to speak–one in which he gives Jules his jacket and she finds the proof that he’s not a psychic, and one in which he gave her the chief’s pashmina and Gus and the chief suffer the consequences of that scenario.

In the meantime, they also solve a murder, but one scenario is with Shawn and Jules working together, happily, and the other is with Shawn trying to prove to Jules that even if he lied, he’s still good at what he does and he still loves her, which was never a lie.

The dog they get Lassiter as a wedding present–in the scenario that didn’t actually happen–is freaking adorable! I hope they get him the dog anyway, but it was so sweet watching Lassiter with a puppy!

The Americans

Elizabeth wants to go after the CIA guy responsible for ordering the hit on Victor, and she succeeds, with Philip’s help. It was done out of grief, and against orders, and she ends up letting him go. However, the guy’s CIA, so he didn’t leave without a little insight into his captors and the place he was being held.

Elizabeth FINALLY overcomes her anger over Philip’s lie about Irina (funny sidenote: Firefox thinks “Philip’s” is spelled wrong, but “Irina” is ok for whatever reason) and goes to his motel to ask him to come home. However, Philip has already made plans to get an apartment because he didn’t want to bring the kids back to the motel again. When Elizabeth realizes that he’s sort of settled into the separation, she hurries off.

BONUS: I found this the other day, and I thought I’d share it because I am super-excited for this movie! I’m not a trekkie, never have been, but I really dig the new movies. Not to say I dislike the Star Trek series, but I just never got into them. (Formatting sidenote: Apparently, I can’t shrink this iframe to fit into my content width without breaking the code, so if you want to see the tiny bit at the right edge of the frame, go to the original page on Yahoo, linked above.)

Up next:

Thursday night, it’s new episodes of Hannibal and Men at Work! I am still super-busy with book promotion stuff and I’m going to be celebrating my birthday this weekend, so I’m not sure when I’ll get to recapping Five-0, HIMYM, and How to Live with Your Parents, but I’ll do my best to get to it this weekend.

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of ache. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
