I’ve been sort of in and out this month with the reviews, trying to keep up with some movie reviews, but I needed a break from the TV recaps. Also, I’m doing Camp NaNoWriMo again this month, so you can partially blame my disappearance on that.
What I’ve been doing with myself besides not blogging
It’s the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, in case you live under a rock, and I. Have. Tickets! Game 5: Avalanche vs. Wild. I’m SUPER excited! I’ve never been to a playoff game live before, so I’m counting the minutes til Saturday!
While I have been doing a lot of work on my novel and my Camp Nano projects, I have also been continuing my introduction to Doctor Who, and am on episode 1, season (series) 5. Enter the 11th Doctor. It took me some time to warm up to the 10th doctor – and then I totally adored him right through the end – but although I only saw a couple minutes of Eleven at the end of season 4 after the regeneration, I think this transition is going to be a little smoother.
Also, I’m attempting to make my way back through some old episodes of Burn Notice. For research. Yes, that’s a thing. My novel is spy-related, and Michael Westen used to be a spy, so I figure it counts. And I’m rewatching The X Files. Because I didn’t get enough CSM, Krycek, and Lone Gunman the first run through, apparently.
Coming soon
I have a shit-ton of new DVDs at home that are new, new-ish, or new-to-me, and I want to watch a bunch of them and review those here, so that’s another thing to look for soon.
Including but not limited to:
- The Wolf of Wall Street
- American Hustle
- The Nut Job
And a couple others that I already saw, but feel I need to rewatch to post a proper review: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Also, I might toss in a season review of the third season of Pramface, which just released on Hulu a couple weeks ago, if I can find the time to write it up. It’s pretty good so far, but the seasons are so short, I always want to know more! That still might be another week or so away, though. I’ve got a busy weekend ahead of me!
I want to do another few episodes of The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon for the kickoff of summer blockbuster season, probably featuring the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man 2, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and maybe A Million Ways to Die in the West.
Anyway…
Just wanted to keep you in the loop so you didn’t think I fell off the face of the planet or moved somewhere remote without internet access. Hope you’re having an awesome April, and I’m looking forward to more movie and television talk soon!
PS: DON’T FORGET TO TUNE IN FOR THE FINAL TWO EPISODES OF AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. and check out Fargo on FX, too! It’s pretty darn great!
