Review: Haywire

This movie was a lot of fun. I had never seen Gina Carano before this (though I’ve seen her since in Fast and Furious 6), but she proved that she’s one to watch in the years to come. She can do badass, and actually serve up a great performance.

Carano plays Mallory Kane, a former black ops soldier who goes on a roaring rampage of revenge to get back at the people who set her up on one of her missions. The first scene starts out in the middle of the story, with her on the run, and then backtracks to show how she got there and how her mission got derailed and almost got her killed.

With hardcore supporting performances from Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Bill Paxton, Channing Tatum, Antonio Banderas, and Michael Douglas, this was a fast-paced, fun thriller on par with The Bourne Trilogy and even reminiscent of some of the new (Daniel Craig) Bond films. And the best part was the female lead!

The action movie genre as well as the spy movie genre are overwhelmed by male actors and characters, and it was refreshing to see a woman who could not only pull off playing a badass, but pull it off in style. So many action movies with women as the leads wind up being a little contrived and corny. This one succeeds. There’s no phony romance, the cheesy dialogue is minimal (if there’s much at all), and the story is actually pieced together pretty well, despite the genre.

4-starsI was a little disappointed by the ending, and the fact that some of these awesome actors don’t get as much screentime as they’re worthy of, but overall, Haywire is a great action flick, bound to keep anyone glued to their seat for a couple hours!

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of hurt. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. What doctors talk about viagra or cialis? It contains Sildenafil. Also known as erectile dysfunction is defined as the impossibility to attain an erection suitable for intercourse. Having erectile malfunction can no doubt complicate dating. Many men take more medicines later in life and some have sexual side effects that will lead to impotence. Some of medications fuel wish. Certain far-famed medicaments can mean screwing with your orgasm. What is the most significant facts you perhaps know know about this?

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
