Tuesday Pistons and Mini Golf

28 January 2014 by Jess

I’m behind again, I know. It’s been a crazy week. Here are some catch-ups from a couple weeks back. Hope they’ll tide you over until I can get to the rest of them 🙂

New Girl (1/14)

Jess wants to become friends with Coach, so she pretends to be into basketball, and even more than that, to be a Pistons fan like him, much to Nick’s chagrin as a diehard Bulls fan. The plan seems to be working, until she realizes that she can’t get him away from the game long enough to have a real conversation. When she bails, Nick comes to Coach’s rescue and explains how to be friends with Jess.

Winston wants to try out marketing, so he shadows over at Schmidt’s office. However, the company just hired an older man to prove they’re not discriminating about age, which they totally are. The guy may be old school, but he picks up quickly and even steals Schmidt’s idea.

Winston finds out he doesn’t really want to be in marketing. Instead, he might want to give the police academy a try.

Trophy Wife (1/14)

When Kate comes home to the twins getting into trouble, Warren jumping off the roof and Hillary filming it on her phone, Kate has to try to figure out how to punish the kids, which she isn’t used to and admittedly isn’t very good at.

She calls in Diane to help, and for once, ex-wife number one agrees. She doesn’t even get that mad when Kate loses her patience and hurls obscenities at the kids who were trying to break her and instead broke her phone. Win? Sort of.

Jackie and Pete learn from Bert’s teacher that he is perceiving a distance and tension between his parents, and she suggests doing something together with their son. Pete wants to go for ice cream, since it will be short and sweet, but Jackie mentions how Bert has been wanting to try a new mini golf place with a pirate theme, and before Pete can get out the ice cream idea, Jackie blurts out the mini golf plan.

It’s fun at first, for Bert at least, though Pete is pretty fed up with Jackie cheating on every hole. When Bert wins another free game, they try to put on a good face, but when some rude teens show up wanting to play through, Pete and Jackie decide to get themselves banned instead of having to get through the rest of the game.

I’m planning on doubling up on last week’s and this week’s episodes of How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, and The Following, and if I can get to it, this week’s Almost Human. Friday’s eps are still coming, eventually, as are recaps from last Wednesday and Thursday.

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of ache. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
