How I Met Your Mother
Marshall is trying to figure out a way to tell Lily about the judge position, at his travel companion’s insistence, but he keeps getting it wrong, and she makes him start over.
Robin and Barney stole Marshall and Lily’s how-we-met story to win over the reverend they wanted to perform their ceremony, and Lily accidentally shares the same story when asked, even though it was hers to start with. When he learns the truth about how they met, he has a heart attack and dies–literally.
Ted spends the entire episode with one woman whom he thought was the wise choice to go to the wedding, but turns out to be a total mess.
Antics as usual. For some reason, they felt the need to hide the mother’s face behind the umbrella at the end, which seems weird because we already know who she is now. Also, Marshall accidentally pissed off his car-mate who texted Lily about the judge thing, so he’s going to be in for it next week!
2 Broke Girls
The girls are trying to compete with the cronut (croissant/donut) trend by coming up with their own combination of flavors. At first, they just want to research the trend, then they want to piggy-back off it by getting some cronuts on the Craigslist “black market”, but when it doesn’t work, they come up with their own blended food idea–cake fries, cupcakes with steak fries.
It sort of sounds gross, but this is America. We deep-fry Twinkies, invented cheese puffs, and will dip just about anything into anything, so it’s really not that surprising. And in my opinion, it sounds awesome. I can’t handle a ton of sugar like what’s in a cupcake, so a sweet and savory combo with the fries balancing out the frosting sweetness sounds perfect to me!
And, lucky for the girls, they pulled it off! They sold out of their new specialty and actually had to turn people away. While I hope they stick with the cupcakes as the base of their business, having a specialty like Cake Fries is probably going to be a huge help to them as they grow.
