20 October 2013 by Jess

Benedict Cumberbatch

Benedict Cumberbatch has been exploding onto the American film scene over the past couple years. Though he’s had plenty of prominent roles in Britain, including the BBC’s Sherlock Holmes, it wasn’t until he played an iconic villain in this year’s Star Trek Into Darkness that the US really got to know who he was. In The Fifth Estate, he plays alongside fellow Brits like David Thewlis and some pretty big American stars like Stanley Tucci and…

Laura Linney! Who can honestly say they don’t love this woman? Her sweet smile? Her wholesome attitude? And her ability to become any character she takes on. She’s pretty awesome. One of my favorite roles was her as Constance in The Life of David Gale, and of course, as Kinsey’s wife Mac in Kinsey, but many people are more familiar with her from The Truman Show or her current TV role as Cathy Jamison on The Big C. Just a guy called…

Kevin Bacon! Once again, we end up with Mystic River as the main connection, but we got there by a different actor, so I’m ok with it.

Results: 1 degree of separation!

It’s almost too easy using Mystic River. There are so many big names with such long careers to choose from! I’ll try to find another way in next time, guys, I promise!

By the way, if you ever see a way to pare down the degrees of separation and point out how to connect the actor in question to Kevin Bacon through fewer connections, leave a comment and prove your movie buff prowess!

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of pain. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
