The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon Episode 17: Coven Edition

13 October 2013 by Jess

In honor of the season three premiere of American Horror Story, I’m featuring one of America’s new favorite witches, Marie Laveau, played by Angela Bassett, in this week’s edition of the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon Episode 17

Angela Bassett

Despite her long career, I actually haven’t seen too many movies with Bassett, though she’s always been on the radar. One that always stuck with me was one of her first big roles, playing an icon, Tina Turner, in What’s Love Got to Do With It? I saw it when I was very young, so I didn’t understand some parts of it, but it was a very emotional and quite terrifying film for any viewer. Domestic violence and finding the strength to get oneself out of a dangerous situation–it was inspiring, but a painful journey to watch. It was in this film that Bassett worked with another icon…

Laurence Fishburne! Most of us know Fishburne best as Morpheus, the man who wouldn’t stop believing in The Matrix, but he’s had plenty of other distinguishing roles over the years. A run on CSI, his new role as Jack Crawford on NBC’s Hannibal, and Tina Turner’s husband Ike in What’s Love Got to Do With It? Fishburne is no stranger to heavy hitters, having starred in an Oscar-winning Clint Eastwood film a few years ago. He worked with Oscar-winners Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Marcia Gay Harden, Eastwood himself, and Oscar nominee Laura Linney and Golden Globe winner…

Kevin Bacon! Isn’t it terrible that Kevin Bacon hasn’t been nominated for an Oscar, even after Mystic River? It’s not like he’s not worthy, but I guess he hasn’t hit the right film yet.

Results: 1 degree of separation

This was sort of an easy one, but since Bassett didn’t get as much screentime as I was hoping for in AHS this week, I wanted to give her plenty of it here.

By the way, if you ever see a way to pare down the degrees of separation and point out how to connect the actor in question to Kevin Bacon through fewer connections, leave a comment and prove your movie buff prowess!

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of pain. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. What doctors talk about viagra or cialis? It contains Sildenafil. Also known as erectile disfunction is defined as the impossibility to attain an erection suitable for intercourse. Having erectile dysfunction can no doubt complicate dating. Many men take more medicines later in life and some have sexual side effects that will lead to impotence. Some of medications fuel desire. Certain far-famed medicaments can mean screwing with your orgasm. What is the most significant facts you perhaps know know about this?

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
