The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon Episode 15: We Are Men Edition

29 September 2013 by Jess

Since CBS’s new comedy We Are Men premieres tomorrow night with Tony Shalhoub, Kal Penn, and Jerry O’Connell, I wanted to feature it on this week’s episode of the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. I am super excited to see the new show! With this many big names on board, I hope that means it won’t (can’t) get cancelled. It’s got a good timeslot, between How I Met Your Mother and 2 Broke Girls, so hopefully it will catch a good audience on opening night. It looks hilarious, if a little male-centric, but I think having Jerry O’Connell walk around in a Speedo should even out the male-female audience interest in the show. Since Jerry O’Connell has been a long-time fav, he’s on deck this week.

Jerry O’Connell

Jerry O’Connell has always been a favorite of mine, even back when he was making shitty movies like Kangaroo Jack and Tomcats. He’s even in one of my favorite movies, whose existence contributed to the namesake for this blog, Jerry Maguire. I was positively tickled when he got a role on a regular series on CBS called The Defenders in 2010, because I think he is a truly awesome comedic talent, and I was subsequently crestfallen when it got cancelled. It was through this show that he met one of Hollywood’s best-known and well-loved comedians…

Photo of Jim Belushi

Jim Belushi! A lot Belushi’s work was before my time, but I really enjoy him. He’s a little misogynistic, a little over the top sometimes, but that’s what makes his brand of funny work. He’s done a lot of TV stuff over the years, but I actually like some of his movies best. One of my favorites is an oldie all the way back in 1986 called About Last Night… It’s a romantic comedy with some seriously cheesy 80s music and some predictable and contrived plotlines at times, but it’s so funny and so sweet, you have to love it anyway. Belushi played Rob Lowe’s best friend and coworker in the movie, and Lowe’s character was dating fellow Brat Pack fav…

Photo of Demi Moore

Demi Moore! Moore was beautiful, as always, in the movie, and while she was a little two-dimensional at times (I blame the writing, not the acting), she was ever so adorable as Debbie. Moore, unlike Belushi and O’Connell, has spent the majority of her career on the silver screen and has met some pretty big names along the way: Robert Redford, Patrick Swayze, Michael Douglas, Gary Oldman, Alec Baldwin, Viggo Mortensen, Bill Macy, Tom Cruise, and so many others. But, it was in a classic military law film that she got to meet our man…

Kevin Bacon! Once again, A Few Good Men brings it home. Moore played Jo Galloway, a Navy commander who more than held her own as part of Danny Kaffee’s legal team.

Results: 2 degrees of separation!

I could have done this in one, seeing as Jerry O’Connell was in Jerry Maguire with Tom Cruise and Cruise was in A Few Good Men with Bacon, but I wanted to find a different way than Tom Cruise to get to Bacon. I ended up with the same movie as the connecting point, but at least I was able to use a different actor!

By the way, if you ever see a way to pare down the degrees of separation and point out how to connect the actor in question to Kevin Bacon through fewer connections, leave a comment and prove your movie buff prowess!

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of pain. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. What doctors talk about viagra or cialis? It contains Sildenafil. Also known as erectile dysfunction is defined as the impossibility to attain an erection suitable for intercourse. About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
