Review: Irresistible

I had never heard of this movie until I found it on Netflix. It sounded interesting and it has some great actors in it, so I thought I’d give it a shot.

The movie focuses on Susan Sarandon’s character Sophie and her relationship with her husband played by Sam Neill. It progresses from her quiet life at home with her husband and children to her becoming completely paranoid and terrified that one of the women her husband works with, Mara, played by Emily Blunt is breaking into their home and playing tricks on her to make her more paranoid.

As it turns out her suspicions were completely correct and the reasoning behind it (spoiler alert!) is that Mara discovered that Sophie gave her up for adoption when she was very young, and she only wanted to get closer to her biological mother. However, Sophie realizes just how sick Mara is, and that she needs help for her obsessive behavior.

Overall, the movie was kind of a disappointment. I expected it to be a little more intense and fast-paced; as it was, it was a little bit pathetic to watch Susan Sarandon devolve the way that she did, even though she ended up being right. It was a little frustrating also that the charade of her paranoia went on as long as it did without anybody coming to her aid to believe her or help her find out the truth.

On the other hand Emily Blunt’s character was actually really well done. this shouldn’t be a surprise because we all know how much I love Emily Blunt and if you don’t love her by now, there’s something wrong with you because she really is awesome at just about everything she does. even in a crappy small budget movie like this, she was able to take the character and really bring it to life and make you believe that everything seemed fine, and then really make you believe that yes, she definitely was batshit crazy.

3-starsIf you like any of the actors or you like sort of Lifetime-channel-movie-of-the-week kind of stuff, which is basically what this is, then you’ll probably enjoy this movie. But if you have higher standards for the type of movie that you like to watch and maybe prefer something a little bit more dramatic and less predictable, then you should probably keep looking.

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of hurt. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. What doctors talk about viagra or cialis? It contains Sildenafil. Also known as erectile dysfunction is defined as the impossibility to attain an erection suitable for intercourse. Having erectile disfunction can no doubt complicate dating. Many men take more medicines later in life and some have sexual side effects that will lead to impotency. Some of medications fuel wish. Certain far-famed medicaments can mean screwing with your orgasm. What is the most significant facts you perhaps know know about this?

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
