Review: Wanderlust

I had really wanted to see this when it came out, so I was thrilled when I found it on HBO. It was a joy to see Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd together again, and not in a relationship that can never happen (see 1998: The Object of My Affection).

The movie begins with the two, George and Linda (yes, it did weird me out a little to hear Jen calling Paul “George” again, once more, see The Object of My Affection), buying an apartment, only to find themselves unable to afford it as they lose their jobs. Linda’s job situation is a little unstable to begin with, as she’s trying to get a documentary film made, and George gets laid off.

No other options, they pack up and move to Atlanta where George can get work with his brother’s Port-o-Potty empire. However, their car breaks down and they have to stop off at a commune, the only thing nearby, where they discover nudity, shared spouses, and living off the land as they never knew possible from their lives in Manhattan.

Seth (Jen’s real-life fiance, Justin Theroux) is the one running the place, with a few familiar faces like Malin Akerman, Alan Alda, and Kathryn Hahn playing members of the community. After living in such a materialistic and uptight world as Manhattan, the concept of returning to a more natural way of life with some friendly, good-hearted people is very appealing.

However, familiarity and “real world” comforts, like having a bedroom door, taking a dump in private, and not sharing your wife with another man, interrupt their newfound lifestyle and they begin to wish for their old lives back.

Also, after discovering what kind of person Seth really is, George and Linda’s perspectives shift and they find their way back to their lives, and each other, but with a new appreciation for loving what they do. As a result, they find a way to incorporate a little of that love into the real world to earn a living.

5-starsThis didn’t do so well at the theaters – there’s still a stigma about nudists, hippies, and communes that even fifty years hasn’t washed away – but it’s a really hilarious film, worth every minute.

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of hurt. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. What doctors talk about viagra or cialis? It contains Sildenafil. Also known as erectile malfunction is defined as the impossibility to attain an erection suitable for intercourse. Having erectile dysfunction can no doubt complicate dating. Many men take more medicines later in life and some have sexual side effects that will lead to impotence. Some of medications fuel desire. Certain far-famed medicaments can mean screwing with your orgasm. What is the most significant facts you perhaps know know about this?

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
