The Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon Episode 8: The Bridge Edition

8 July 2013 by Jess

IT’S HERE!! The new serial killer drama on FX, The Bridge, premieres this Wednesday at 10 PM. AND, lucky us, it’s the big man’s birthday. That’s right! Kevin Bacon was born this day, July 8th, in 1958. So…

Happy Birthday, Kevin Bacon! And many more!

In honor of the new show, starring one of my favorite actresses and number 1 girl crush Diane Kruger, this week’s edition of the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon features the new show’s leading lady.

Diane Kruger

This beautiful German actress has made her mark on the film world in more ways than one, and she’s just getting started. One of the first movies audiences saw her in all over the world was the epic Troy, in which she starred as Helen, yes, that Helen. She found herself along some pretty heavy hitters, including Peter O’Toole, Brendan Gleeson, Sean Bean, Brad Pitt, and a very good-looking Australian man by the name of…

Photo of Eric Bana

Eric Bana! Bana has become one of my favorite Aussies not only because of his awesome battle with Achilles in Troy, but also his small and hilarious role as one of the sharks in Finding Nemo, and his unparalleled performance in Munich. However, it was his role as the title character in one of the first superhero films of the new millennium, The Hulk, that brings us one step closer to the goal of the game. In The Hulk, he met another of my favorite actresses…

Photo of Jennifer Connelly

Jennifer Connelly! I have loved this lady from the first time I saw her, all the way back in 1997’s Inventing the Abbotts. (I caught up with some of her earlier work like Career Opportunities later on). She’s beautiful, smart, and crazy talented, which is probably why she won the Oscar for her supporting role as Josh Nash’s wife Alicia in A Beautiful Mind. It was on this set that she met another man who will go down in Hollywood legend…

Photo of Ed Harris

Ed Harris! This guy is that good. If you’ve never seen a movie of his (which I doubt), go do it, right now. He’s a genius. It’s probably why Ron Howard decided to work with him again in A Beautiful Mind, after having seen what he was capable of in a little movie, maybe you’ve heard of it, called Apollo 13. This thing did pretty well at the box office and wowed audiences with its dramatic and down-to-earth (no pun intended) portrayal of the launch that changed how we look at the dangers of space travel. It’s also been included in the American Film Institute’s list of most inspirational movies, and it’s easy to see why. But, it was in this film that Ed Harris met our dear friend, the birthday boy…

Kevin Bacon! Bacon has starred in a lot of films over the years, but I’d say that Apollo 13 is one of the ones he’ll be best remembered for (aside from his fancy footwork in Footloose 😉 and probably one of the ones he’ll remember best. I don’t think one easily forgets spending time on a set with the likes of  Ron Howard, Tom Hanks, Gary Sinise, Bill Paxton, and Ed Harris.

Results: 3 degrees of separation!

I didn’t expect much trouble putting Diane Kruger next to Kevin Bacon, considering how many big movies she’s been in, but this was a path I hadn’t really expected. Troy, Hulk, A Beautiful Mind, and Apollo 13? What a trip! I do think I could have pared this down to two degrees of separation, but I wanted to get this in on the big man’s birthday!

By the way, if you ever see a way to pare down the degrees of separation and point out how to connect the actor in question to Kevin Bacon through fewer connections, leave a comment and prove your movie buff prowess!

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of pain. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. What doctors talk about viagra or cialis? It contains Sildenafil. Also known as erectile dysfunction is defined as the impossibility to attain an hard-on suitable for intercourse. Having erectile malfunction can no doubt complicate dating. Many men take more medicines later in life and some have sexual side effects that will lead to impotency. Some of medications fuel desire. Certain far-famed medicaments can mean screwing with your orgasm. What is the most significant facts you perhaps know know about this?

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
