Thursday Night: Moving On, Mushrooms, and Seth Green

Go On

Finale fun. It was a little anti-climactic for me, actually. Ryan’s remembering his wedding day and how Janey said it got too big and out of control. Lauren is trying to get him to spread Janey’s ashes, something they’ve been working toward since he joined the group, but Ryan’s been making it into a big thing and procrastinating.

Ann and Mr. K try to help him move forward by taking the ashes hostage, but they accidentally spill them in the parking lot at a gas station.

Ryan remembers how he took Janey to the batting cages to get her to come out of her room at the church before the wedding, and how they went there on their third date. He realizes that’s the perfect place to spread her ashes and he goes off and does it on his own.

It was an appropriate ending, but it didn’t really feel like a finale. I haven’t had any confirmation if it’s been renewed, but I hope so. I love seeing Matthew Perry on TV again, and this finally seems to be a good fit. They’ll have to expand the storyline a bit if they want to push the show through another entire season, but I think that’ll be good. Maybe they could tell the story from one of the other character’s perspectives, like Ann’s or Yolanda’s, or even Lauren’s. That could be interesting… (Are you listening, NBC? I’ve got more!)

Hannibal

Once again, this show managed to surprise me. I’ve seen a lot of stuff. I watch a lot of TV and a lot of movies. I’ve seen a lot of cop shows and a lot of gory, ugly, serial killer stuff. And yet, somehow, this show managed to come up with something new: a killer who likes to grow mushrooms on top of the corpses.

Will is getting to like killing criminals–he’s spending his spare time at the gun range and he shoots another killer at the hospital, no hesitation. I can appreciate that, but it definitely makes me nervous with a guy like Hannibal for his shrink.

I wish they’d get into the doctor/patient thing more with Hannibal and Will though. That relationship is going to be so fascinating when it develops, and I want to see more of the creepy Hannibal Lector side. So far, he’s been almost all doctor and no psychopath, and it’s not as interesting. It’s just impending creepiness.

Men at Work

Why isn’t everyone watching this show? Seriously. It’s hilarious. We got a guest appearance from Seth Green playing a homeless guy on this week’s episode. He and Milo go head to head at the bodega when Milo refuses to pay for the homeless guy’s porn and cigarettes, and then Milo gets put on the shit list, along with Tom Hanks. “He knows what he did,” Green says.

Milo finally figures out a way to get off the list when he and Seth Green duel guitars and start making some decent money playing on the subway platform.

Meanwhile, Tyler is trying to impress a girl who thinks he works at the local electronics store, but it turns out she was mostly using him for his employee discount. Gibbs finds a pair of Neal’s old glasses and a clipboard, and uses them “to get in anywhere” because he looks so official.

If you’re one of those people who isn’t watching this show, shame on you. With many of the network shows wrapping up in the coming weeks for the season, this is a good one to trade up for 🙂

Up Next

SAD! Cult got canceled, officially. I’m not surprised, but I don’t understand how some of these other shows (ahem, Revolution) are still on. Cult was fun. It maybe had a little too much going on, and probably wasn’t easy for people to pick up on if they hadn’t seen it before, but I liked it. It was fun seeing Matthew Davis on a series. Maybe FX or USA has something he’d be right for…

I keep hearing rumors that Smash is on the death spiral having been moved to Saturdays, and I’m not surprised either if that one gets canceled as well, but I will really miss Jack Davenport. I fell in love with this guy on Coupling on BBCA YEARS AGO and every time he pops up in a US movie is awesome. When I got to see him once a week, it was even better. I hope he gets another show soon. One that airs here.

Anyway, enough sad news and speculation: Happy Endings is new Friday night, and new Mad Men Sunday at what I believe will be its regular time slot. Revenge is off until the 28th, I believe, and I suspect Red Widow will also be the same. Pretty much everybody else is off and on the next couple weeks except for the cable shows. I’ll keep you posted on what’s airing according to my listings on Xfinity.

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of pain. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. What doctors talk about viagra or cialis? It contains Sildenafil. Also known as erectile dysfunction is defined as the impossibility to attain an erection suitable for intercourse. Having erectile dysfunction can no doubt complicate dating. Many men take more medicines later in life and some have sexual side effects that will lead to impotence. Some of medications fuel desire. Certain far-famed medicaments can mean screwing with your orgasm. What is the most significant facts you perhaps know know about this?

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
