NBC Tuesday Comedies: Break-ups and Shake-ups

Go On “Ring and a Miss”

When Simone realizes that Ryan is still hung up on Janie’s memory to the point that he still wears his wedding ring, she asks him for a small sign of commitment to her, and asks him to take it off.

When it comes down to it, Ryan realizes that he’s not ready to do it. He tries talking to the other group members, and they try to explain that when the ring comes off, it should be for himself and not for another woman.

Ryan resists their advice, but in the end, he still can’t do it. Sorry for Ryan, but I think it’s good that he and Simone are through. I didn’t think they were a good fit, and I hope that Ryan is able to find what he’s looking for.

Mr. K was hilarious as Ann’s nanny, and he really connected with the kids. Luckily, he explains to Ann how to relax a little and be fun with her kids.

The New Normal “Rocky Bye Baby”

Rocky decides to throw the guys a baby shower, bringing up some sad memories for Goldie, who didn’t get a baby shower when she was pregnant the last time, and this time, it isn’t really for her.

The guys don’t really want a baby shower because they can afford their own stuff, and so they try to donate all of the gifts to a children’s home. They meet a beautiful little girl looking for a foster family, and they like her so much, they decide to try to start the adoption process for her.

However, when Rocky and Nana head back to the children’s home to pick up the gift they had given David and Bryan, Rocky meets the little girl too, and falls in love with her. She beats the guys to the punch on the adoption process.

It was nice seeing Rocky’s subplot develop a little bit in this episode, and even if Bryan and David’s baby doesn’t get an older sister to grow up with, he’ll have a close family friend near his age, so that’ll be good too.

I really don’t understand what the point is of having Shania’s dad Clay back in the picture. I like the new LA family that Goldie and Shania have created, and he doesn’t seem to fit into it very well. He’s not a likeable character, and he’s not that funny either, so I don’t really care for having him on.

They need to give Nana back some screen-time too. She’s been off the radar the past few weeks. I’m sure someone complained that she’s offensive, but it doesn’t mean she’s not entertaining.

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
