I don’t have busy-ness as an excuse for getting these up so late this time. I’ve been dealing with some personal stuff the last few days, and it’s been a real motivation suck on the blogging. Bear with me, the recaps will be up as soon as I can get caught up on them all.

Juliette takes a chance on a new format for her concert performance when she does a center stage, no dancing, no costumes, no smoke machine song with no one but Deacon at her side.
Her manager freaks out when he sees negative tweets from a local reviewer in attendance, but one of Juliette’s other entourage assistants shows her the YouTube videos and overwhelming positive responses, applauding her willingness to try something new.
Behind on rent, Scarlett asks Gunnar to move in seeing as he’s been having some roommate trouble lately. Avery drops by and discovers the new arrangement and tries to start something with Gunnar, but with Gunnar’s upbringing, he’s got the drop on Avery and gives him a couple good shots to the pretty face that’s helping him on his new path to stardom.
Teddy and Peggy end up in bed together after they realize they’re both separated from their spouses, and Deacon makes a move on Rayna in the elevator because he’s tired of thinking about doing things and not doing them.
Just as it looks like Rayna and Deacon might reunite for what is sure to be a passionate affair, Teddy shows up at Rayna’s penthouse suite in Chicago, and in a surprise move, asks for a divorce.
Being the new mayor elect, it was a little surprising to see him ask for a divorce, especially since his connection to Peggy was already under suspicion and then she had her accidental overdose putting a romantic relationship even more in question. However, it’s not really a big surprise that he wants the divorce.
It’s been clear that he and Rayna are more friendly co-parents than loving spouses, and they both have romantic leanings toward other people, but it seemed like both of them were hoping to save face and keep it together for their kids.
Now that Scarlett and Gunnar are in such close quarters, their romance is imminent. He’s too sweet and cares about her too much to let things go unsaid for long, and once she spends more time with him as a roommate and friend rather than a coworker/bandmate, I think she’ll realize what a better fit he is compared to Avery.

Becca gets closer to her Secret Service agent (Missi Pyle, a familiar face you’ll remember in everything from Dodgeball to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory–don’t look her up on this episode, IMDB is a little behind the times, but it’s her, trust me!). She starts talking to her as a substitute for a shrink, and when she gets her to talk back, it looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Meanwhile, Emily tries to get closer to Xander by helping him with his campaign for president at his school. His speech gets sabotaged by his competition, but he pulls through it all right.
Skip gets confused between the environmentalist protestors’ message and the explanation he gets from his father about some transportation policy.
