How I Met Your Mother
Barney and Robin are both adjusting to engaged life as Barney has to find a way to detox from his habit of cheap one-night stands while Robin has to adjust to paying for stuff now that she’s “invisible” to men’s affections and generosity with her engagement ring on.
Ted accidentally bangs Barney’s half-sister, at Barney’s request (neither knows who she is at the time) so Barney can live vicariously through Ted’s meaningless one-night stand with a twenty year old.

Marshall and Lily are enjoying a fantasy in which he’s a biker/drug dealer after he puts on a wrist cuff (see photo of Ted, above). While they’re enjoying the sex and romance of the whole thing, Marshall develops an allergy to the cuff and his hand blows up to the size of a foam finger.
The Following
First of all, I’m so happy to see Natalie Zea on TV again! LOVE that she’s back on a series! First it was Dirty Sexy Money, then Hung, Justified, and now the new Fox drama, The Following. I just hope she likes this one enough to stick with it.
As an added bonus, I love Kevin Bacon, so getting to see him once a week is a dream come true. Bacon plays Ryan Hardy a former FBI agent who made his career on tracking a serial killer named Joe Carroll.
Zea plays Claire Matthews, Carroll’s ex-wife, also the mother of his child whom he never knew. She and Hardy had a thing back while he was tracking Carroll the first time around.
Joe Carroll (played by James Purefoy, Rome, A Knight’s Tale) is the killer–obsessed with Edgar Allan Poe and creating his own “art” with his murders. Over the years, he’s recruited a large following willing to do anything for him, and while he’s in prison, it looks they have orders to carry out the rest of his story.
Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore, X-Men 2: X-Men United–seriously they had to rip off Burn Notice to give this guy a name? Yes, I am aware they’re spelled differently, but still.) plays an up and coming agent with a good background on Carroll and Hardy, as well as the works of Edgar Allan Poe.
The pilot follows Hardy as he tracks Carroll who’s escaped from prison to kill the one woman he failed to “finish off”. The show erupts with violence almost from the start as we see one of Carroll’s followers plunge a knife into her forehead at Carroll’s prompting. Hardy comes through with the answer on where Carroll took her, but he’s too late.
The question is, what are they going to do now that the killer is behind bars again? I can’t see a whole season based around Hardy and Carroll playing cat and mouse in a prison cell. Is this a cop show with Hardy as a consultant on other cases? Cases that stem from Carroll’s followers? That’s what it looks like from the previews, and it would make sense going with the show’s title.
As the show wraps up, we discover that Claire’s son Joey has been abducted by the babysitter, a follower of Carroll’s, and Hardy and Claire will have to play along with Carroll to get the boy back. Heavy stuff for a pilot, but, lucky us, we get FOURTEEN STRAIGHT EPISODES to find out what happens!

It’s Danny’s custody hearing, and while he expects to address Rachel to ask for partial custody of their daughter, he instead has to implore the judge. Steve, looking rather dapper in his dress uniform, comes to Danny’s defense, but he gets a call direct from the governor.
Danno [to Steve, seeing him decked out in dress uniform]: Your tie’s all jacked up. Can I fix it, please?
The team is called in on a murder investigation of a prostitute who is killed at the governor’s mansion. The governor is trying to control the investigation to protect the man who was with the girl when she died, a prominent senator-to-be.
The team pursues the case somewhere they did not expect, as Wo Fat shows up, still on the island, still causing problems. It was his plan, along with the congressman’s opponent, to stage the situation with the prostitute.
Fortunately, the congressman picks the handcuffs Wo Fat leaves him alone in and escapes. Wounded, he makes it far enough to the helicopter rescue that Danny and Steve arrive to make. Steve doesn’t want to let Wo Fat get away, but with two bullet holes in the congressman, he has to fly them all back to a hospital.
This was a great episode. Really good twist on the murder and shocker bringing Wo Fat back into the mix! Also, Danno gets to keep Grace, so win-win there 🙂

I’M ALL CAUGHT UP!! HOORAY! Except for the episode of 2 Broke Girls I missed tonight (which will have to be skipped since CBS doesn’t post full episodes online of this show), we are back on track for the week. I expect to fall back off track tomorrow with the ridiculous Tuesday line-up we have to contend with, but still, small victories 😀
This week, we have the series finale of Private Practice and the season finale of American Horror Story: Asylum. Chicago Fire, Guys with Kids, Elementary, Don’t Trust the B—- and Happy Endings are all off this week, but Go On, New Girl, Parenthood, and Justified will all air at their usual times, along with the Private Practice finale. It’ll just be AHS and Nashville Wednesday night, and Thursday, we have a new Last Resort, and triple booking of Grey’s, Suits, and 1600 Penn during the same time block. A smallish break, but next week, things will pick back up with two new premieres, NBC’s Do No Harm and FX’s The Americans.
