DON’T PANIC. I’m going to try something a little different since I’m so far behind. Here are last week’s episodes of Burn Notice and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia AND this week’s episodes–in the same post. Enjoy!
PS: What do you think of my fun post title? Too much?
Burn Notice “Down and Out”
This episode was one of the best Burn Notice episodes in months. The last really great one to my mind was when Fiona turned herself in to the police to save Michael. Fun guest appearance by Patton Oswalt, but mostly, I love seeing Michael playing a character where he doesn’t have to go too far with an accent or a dopey personality. He is almost himself, just with a few untruths and manipulations along the way.
The bad guy, really bad. The twists, really good. The client, really entertaining. Michael, Sam, Fi, Jesse–all at the top of their game. If you missed this episode, track it down and check it out. Amazing.
Once again, Maddie saves the day. She can be a pain in the ass, but for the most part, over the years, she has really become a valuable member of the team.
It’s not clear whether Sam’s going to stay or go this time, but I can’t imagine the crew without him. If he doesn’t leave with Mike, Fi and Jesse now, I’m sure he will soon enough. Chuck Finley always comes through.
Burn Notice
Last week’s episode was better. It was fun seeing Olivia Riley try and fail to catch up with Michael through Maddy, but it is really terrible that she’s actually going to penalize Maddy for protecting her son. She must not have kids or she’d understand that Mama Bear instinct and back off a little, job or no job. I guess that why she’s the “heavy hitter”. It’ll be interesting to see if Maddy does follow Michael and the gang to Belize or Tanzania or wherever they end up. I kind of hope she does, just because it’s hard to imagine this show without her after so many years!
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Frank goes back to the corporate world, and it’s freaking awesome and hilarious on all counts. Charlie starts wearing suspenders and collared shirts to try and edge his way into the business, and Mac keeps coming up with ridiculous ideas for products to pitch.
Meanwhile, Dennis and Dee are pretending to be this French Canadian guy (and his fake wife) who left his wallet at the bar so they can take advantage of some good Phillies tickets. Frank and Dennis take the cake in this one as the funniest. Check it out if you can find another showing.
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Dee and Charlie take over the Internet world in this episode with some hardcore gaming. Dennis gets weirder, if possible, and ends up shutting the gaming down because it was “stupid”.
While the rest of the gang probably should use different passwords than “PaddysPub” in the future to avoid such hostile take-downs, the odds are shockingly high that they won’t.
