Leverage
Leverage is making its first appearance on Always Happy to Entertain You, but I’ve been watching this show from the beginning. The characters have really evolved over the years into more than their mastermind/grifter/hitter/hacker/thief personas.
This one was pretty personal for Eliot, taking out the “big box” store, and it was a great episode because the gang was challenged to find a way to make the villain destroy herself instead of them finding a way to destroy her. Even though Parker didn’t have to crawl through and Hardison didn’t have to do any super-hacking, this show always has something to root for, and always keeps you smiling at the end when the plot plays out.
Parenthood
Quick summation: Psycho neighbor at the Luncheonette. Julia realizes that stay-at-home motherhood is not as fulfilling as working full-time. Sarah seems to put Hank before Mark, creating a major rift. And Christina is worried that she won’t get to see Max’s “milestones” and tries to force him into going to a school dance.
Questions: it ain’t over with that neighbor. I understand she’s upset, but it is her fault for choosing the neighborhood and moving in without doing proper research first. Since Crosby’s the one who handled her, I can only suspect that he’s the one who will be dealing with her most in the future and possibly creating a divide between him and Adam or him and Jasmine (hope that is not the case!).
Based the preview for the new episode, it’s clear that Sarah and Hank have gotten a little closer than they should, considering she’s living with Mark, with her son. Again, saw this coming. Again, I don’t think it’s going to work out with her and Mark, especially after this. Even if they do work through it this time, I don’t think the Hank subject is going to go away.
Go On
Ryan tries to get back on the dating horse. It doesn’t exactly go well. He throws out his back trying to impress some volleyball girls and then when Lauren tries to comfort him, he tries to kiss her. However, Sonia and Danny are getting along swimmingly as they search for Puddin’ the cat.
This was the first real intro to the Ryan/Lauren thing that is bound to happen eventually. While Wyatt is pretty great, it’s pretty clear that he and Lauren are not really that into each other. It’s just become sort of status quo.
The New Normal
Shania embodies Cher for an “influential women” project at school, but her choice of song gets her suspended. Goldie accidentally spills the beans that Bryan and David are having a boy.
David is thrilled, but Bryan is worried he won’t be able to relate to a son as well as he might be able to relate to a daughter. However, when Bryan steps up to help the kids’ football team David helps coach, he really pulls it out with make-your-own-pizzas.
