Tuesday and Wednesday Dramas Get Even More Dramatic

19 November 2012 by Jess

Ryan and Amber, not taking it slow.

Last of the catch-ups from last week! Enjoy!

Parenthood

Christina has to have help from Camille because her own mom won’t fly back to help her and she feels like she’s being treated like a child. Adam isn’t holding up too well under the stress of Christina’s illness, lashing out at pretty much anybody that does anything to even remotely bug him.

Amber and Ryan end up cozying up sooner than expected, or rather just as soon as expected, and both Sarah and Zeek are trying to decide whether that’s all right, Ryan being fresh back from war and all.

Julia and Joel are trying to help Victor make friends, but discover that the familiarity of his old friends may be what he needs more than the pressure of making new friends.

3-starsDrew manages to set himself up for a pity lay from his ex, who feels sorry for him after he mentions Christina’s cancer. Because that’s not going to come back and bite him.

Part of what I really love about this show is that these people really care about each other–they fight and yell and stop talking sometimes, but they always have each other’s backs, and when the going really gets tough, they can get through anything.

Chicago Fire

4-starsIt’s Dawson’s day in court, sort of, as she and Mouch prepare to defend her against the “malpractice” type of charge she faces for making a call in the back of the ambulance that she wasn’t “qualified” to make. Mouch advises her to smile and stick to the facts without elaborating, something she has a hard time doing.

The dirty cop gets even dirtier as he plants coke in Casey’s house and sends some guys over there to search for it. They get a pass because they’re friend’s with Dawson’s brother, but it still is a little tense knowing that the guy has that kind of pull.

The little girl that Dawson saved and her family appear on Dawson’s behalf, so she escapes the charge this time around. And bonus, Casey gets to watch Antonio arrest the cop who’s been harassing him. Hard to say if that’s the end of the story, but if so, what new drama will this show bring?

Nashville

3-starsAnother soapy episode. It was awesome to see Rayna cut loose a little and just get into her music, but they added yet another two triangles and it’s getting a little tangled.

Avery is approached by a manager, who according to Deacon only represents young, good-looking musicians because she sleeps with them all first. And Juliette starts going out with a “squeaky clean” quarterback, whom she manages to get into trouble, as usual.

Peggy also decides to volunteer for Teddy’s campaign, pushing herself closer and closer to him just when the mysterious photographer brings the photos of her and Teddy meeting, mostly platonically, to his employer, the mayor.

Drama, drama, drama. This one is losing steam fast for me. There is WAY too much going on. I like the direction they’re going with Rayna, and I still want to find out what happens with Scarlett and Gunnar (who didn’t even appear in this episode), but I think this one is going on probation/hiatus from Always Happy to Entertain You until they produce a must-see episode.

Up Next:

I think we’re all caught up! Yay! Now we got the whole week ahead of us to fall behind again!

New CBS Monday night episodes tonight, and all new episodes from everyone Tuesday night as well. Wednesday I think Nashville is on break and there’s a bonus Private Practice episode to check out. Thursday is off for the holiday, and so we’ll be off from Thursday until next Sunday with the Revenge holiday special.

Tune in for CBS Monday night!

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
