Catch-Up: Chicago Fire and New Girl

2 November 2012 by Jess

Here is the New Girl episode from last week that I missed, and this week’s Chicago Fire! Since it’s a long time til Sunday, I’m including Thursday night’s shows in a separate post. Enjoy!

New Girl (10/23)

Nick learns that he actually cares about Schmidt and Winston while Jess has to learn how to appreciate CeCe’s occupation. After Jess puts down CeCe’s model friends and her modeling career for making her dumber, they have a boob fight and then an actual not-talking fight.

However, when CeCe drinks too much before her modeling gig, Jess agrees to take her place and finds out how difficult it is to get all dressed up in fake eyelashes and awkward high heels and stand in front of a car while it’s moving on a revolving floor.

This one was all about how much friendship matters. Even when you don’t agree with your friends’ decisions or lifestyles, you still love them for who they are and for all the experiences you’ve shared.

Chicago Fire

I really enjoy the dynamic between Kelly and Leslie. It’s nice that they’re roommates and they really look out for each other. Leslie has to deal with an ex-girlfriend who is now married to a man and 7 months pregnant, and Kelly and Dawson really help her through it.

I’m also really enjoying Laura German’s role in this show compared to her stint on Five-0. She seems much more confident and self-assured in this role whereas on Five-0, I always wondered what she was doing and how she was contributing to the plot. Her character was a lot quieter and less interesting.

Kelly’s character has also become much more likeable over the past couple weeks as we’ve gotten past that outward aggression and anger. It’s also good to see Herman’s (David Eigenberg) side of the story because he’s the main character who has a family to take care of.

Meanwhile, Casey is still dealing with the dirty cop who slashes his tires and tries to bribe him in this episode. I have a feeling this guy isn’t going to give up even after the trial against his son.

The chief has a spot of trouble with the law when the candidate wants to go back after somebody in a burning warehouse, but the chief says no because the building is about to collapse. The person ends up dying in the collapse and his brother wants to sue the city. The issue gets resolved, but it raises some thoughts and questions about when are you doing your job and when are you not doing enough.

Good episode this week, worth the time. Lucky, too – I was ready to cross this show off the list, but it redeemed itself. If it starts getting slow or predictable, it’s going right back on the not-worth-watching list.

Just found the Chicago Fire Pinterest profile. Way better source.

Don’t miss Sunday’s Revenge!

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of pain. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. What doctors talk about viagra or cialis? It contains Sildenafil. Also known as erectile dysfunction is defined as the impossibility to attain an erection suitable for intercourse. About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
