A Very Dark Halloween at Briarcliff-AHS: Asylum

1 November 2012 by Jess

Sorry, no pics on this one. FX hasn’t added anything new to my usual sources!

American Horror Story: Asylum

Oh dear God. The modern story gets a little more twisted with “Bloodyface” turning out to be a couple of kids playing a prank on the “horror freaks” who dared enter the asylum, but just as one realizes what they’ve done, a third “Bloodyface” killer emerges and this one doesn’t appear to be in on the gag.

I wasn’t sure there would be a new episode, despite the holiday, but it doesn’t get any better than an AHS Halloween. Remember last year with the nurses? Creepy.

And back in 1964, everybody’s old ghosts are coming back to haunt them: Sister Jude’s car accident. Lily Rabe’s character Sister Mary Eunice develops new facets every episode and this is no different. It appears I was right about the demon jumping bodies–Sister Mary Eunice can now speak Spanish and flash her eyes red, along with killing some of the patients. She has also taken to increasing her sexuality and taunts Doctor Arden with it.

Jessica Lange undone is not a pretty sight. Haunted by her car crash and the hit and run, she gets a call from teh little girl she hit, leading her to drink the communion wine that Sister Mary Eunice left on her desk–drink to the point of drunkenness. Like I said, not pretty.

Dr. Arden has a strange sexual confusion (which we already knew). He hates women when they’re sinners, whores, but venerates the ones he feels are pure. It raises the question how he chooses his victims: Wendy (Lana’s companion) makes sense as she was a homosexual; Kit’s wife was a black woman married to a white man, so that matches up; the hooker escaped, but that choice would have made sense; but we don’t know about his other victims. Were they unclean or perverted in some way that made him select them?

Meanwhile, Kit, Lana, Shelly and the Grace all try to escape during the Nor’easter that passes through the Briarcliff area, but they are driven back into the asylum when Dr. Arden’s creatures begin chasing them. Shelly gets derailed by the doctor who rapes her (**AMENDED: attempts to rape her and fails) and amputates her legs. And next week, it looks like she might be his next “experiment”.

Up next:

Will catch up with last week’s New Girl, but I’m not sure yet if I will get to it for it to be included with Thursday’s recap or not.

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of hurt. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. What doctors talk about viagra or cialis? It contains Sildenafil. Also known as erectile disfunction is defined as the impossibility to attain an erection suitable for intercourse. Having erectile dysfunction can no doubt complicate dating. Many men take more medicines later in life and some have sexual side effects that will lead to impotency. Some of medications fuel desire. Certain far-famed medicaments can mean screwing with your orgasm. What is the most significant facts you perhaps know know about this?

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
