Wednesday Night: Halloween Episodes All Around

25 October 2012 by Jess

It’s a week before Halloween and everybody’s running their Halloween episodes this week? Plus, it looks like AHS: Asylum  is taking a break next week, which makes no sense. AHS ON HALLOWEEN? That would have been awesome.

Guys with Kids

Halloween episode. Haunted hallway: Legen-wait for it-dary 🙂 Gary and Marny try to scare off prospective buyers for the apartment next to theirs so they can take it over and expand, but they end up believing their own scary stories and avoiding the place altogether.

Chris has to go out with the creepy new co-op president lady who dresses him up like her dad, but Nick and Sheila actually try getting along, so that’s kind of a nice change.

Zachary Quinto as Dr. Thredson

American Horror Story: Asylum

First, credits commentary: It boggles the mind that Zachary Quinto and Joe Fiennes get top billing in the credits when they barely (if at all for Quinto) appeared in the premiere. The creepiest part is the statue at the end of the credits that has a peaceful look on her face at one moment, and then a telling smirk the next.

I was fascinated by the relationship between Doctor Arden (Cromwell) and Sister Mary Eunice at first, but now it’s gross. And creepy. And horrifying. His intentions go beyond platonic, for sure, and she’s so naive, she doesn’t even realize it.

Sister Mary Eunice, the naive, idyllic virginal nun, and the object of Arden’s creepy affection

Loved getting a glimpse at Doctor Thredson in this episode! Quinto has been a terrifying favorite since NBC’s Heroes, and having him be the semi-good guy here is a nice change (I know he was Spock and Spock is the good guy too, but I will always remember him from Heroes first and being the terrifying serial killer Sylar. However, Thredson (shrink) is already overstepping his boundary with Sister Jude.

Speaking of whom, Sister Jude has a past! Holeeeey cow is it a good one! Hit and run, cocktail lounge singer, loose woman. And the demon possessing the kid knows it all. Exorcism American Horror Story style? Count me in. However, I have a nasty suspicion that the demon jumped bodies when the kid died, and since Sister Mary Eunice is the one who fainted–we’ll see!

And, Lana gets bold–tattling on Kit when it was her idea to escape in the first place. He didn’t do it–he’s not the real Bloodyface–I knew that right off. Mostly because I want to believe and us X Files nerds love a good alien abduction story. And I have a nasty feeling I know who did kill all those women: the evil doc with the nun fetish.

Is James Cromwell the ultimate terror villain or what? I thought he was bad in LA Confidential, but holy shit. Creepy hooker-ordering, nun-fetish serial killer? I KNEW Kit didn’t do it. And Cromwell makes a hell of a better “Bloodyface” than Kit. (So–sidebar–this creepy Dr. Arden pic has been following me all over the blog post as I’m editing it. It keeps popping up in like three places and the Blogger editor isn’t pulling in the pictures from the editor side anymore. Creepy!)

Note to FX, I need more promotional pictures. Please share some more. Thanks 🙂

Teddy and Rayna watching their kids sing 🙂

Nashville

I cannot get enough of Scarlett and Gunnar! They are a really beautiful musical duo, and the best part is, their music isn’t even very country. It sounds more bluesy to me, and I dig it.

I mean, Rayna and Juliette’s dramas are all well and good, but Scarlett and Gunnar are just more interesting to me and enjoyable to watch. It’s almost like the rest of the show has too much baggage and these two kids are just starting to accumulate theirs.

Their music seriously gives me chills. The lyrics are great and Scarlett’s voice is haunting, especially with the hint of an accent that carries over into her singing voice.

Bonus: A clip of their song: “If I Didn’t Know Better”

This week:

All new episodes on Thursday night for Grey’s, Sunny, Elementary, Beauty and the Beast, Last Resort, and Up All Night.

Also, with Halloween a-coming, Mockingbird Lane premieres Friday night on NBC. I don’t know about this one. I LOVE (^to the power of a zillion) Jerry O’Connell and Portia de Rossi, but a remake of The Munsters in color? It’s hard to say how it’ll go. However, I miss Portia from Arrested Development and Ally McBeal and I REALLY miss Jerry O’Connell from The Defenders so I am going to check it out to get a dose of two awesome people who deserve so much better than they get on network TV.

Don’t miss ABC Thursday and Elementary on CBS!

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of pain. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. What doctors talk about viagra or cialis? It contains Sildenafil. Also known as erectile dysfunction is defined as the impossibility to attain an erection suitable for intercourse. Having erectile dysfunction can no doubt complicate dating. Many men take more medicines later in life and some have sexual side effects that will lead to impotency. Some of medications fuel desire. Certain far-famed medicaments can mean screwing with your orgasm. What is the most significant facts you perhaps know know about this?

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
