Thursday Dramas In Limbo

5 October 2012 by Jess

With the debate last night, I actually had a chance to catch up on some of the other projects I’ve been working on, so it was a nice little break. But now, we are back on track for Grey’s, Elementary, and more.

Last Resort

I only caught the first half before switching over to Up All Night. This one seemed to be a little slower than the pilot, and it wasn’t nearly as intense. It’s still fun seeing a Whedon alum on a series again, though–check out Dichen Lachman as a helpful local bar-mistress.

Up All Night

Reagan and Chris are trying to be “adventurous” so they don’t turn into the “waffle house couple” who never talk to each other. Ava and Scott take to cleaning out Ava’s extra room that she uses for storage, which has apparently been used for everything she never threw away ever.

It’s still sweet, still funny, but still missing some of the chemistry that was there among everybody during the first season.

A glimpse into the doctors’ survival after the plane crash.

Grey’s Anatomy

Now we get to see what happened to everybody before they “recovered”. Cristina was catatonic because she was the only one who stayed awake the entire time they were lost in the woods, and saw and heard everything. Mark is awake and lively, until he’s not. Derek’s worried he may only 80% of the use of his hand back. And Meredith is just trying to hold things together and stay positive–something we have never known her to do. Derek was always the positive one. Meredith was the realist. Arizona still has her legs, but it’s clear they’re in danger.

All those wonderful hardcore surgeons we fell in love with so many years ago are broken. They’ve survived, and been better for it, all the years before. They had a shooting. They dealt with a boat accident. They watched Izzie go through cancer. George died. Burke left. Addison left. It’s been a long, tough run. They have loved and lost more than any other people on TV, not counting the daytime soaps. But this event, this plane crash, really seems to have poked holes in their strength. In their family. In their ability to be there for each other.

But even now, with Mark gone, Lexie gone, Arizona and possibly Derek unable to do surgery anymore, they have to get through it, and if they’ve survived what they have been through for all these years, they will still get through this.

Elementary

This show is just fun. Holmes is cheeky as ever, and as the story continues, we learn more about Joan’s history as well. Despite their respective intellectual abilities, neither one of them is very good at relationships. Holmes is more of a general anti-social personality, while Watson is able to communicate and relate to people, but when it comes to her family and other personal relationships, she keeps her distance.

Sidebar: ABC, Nashville is NOT TV’s new hit show because it hasn’t AIRED YET. Once it does, then we’ll see. But it doesn’t count because the country hasn’t seen the premiere yet. One critic’s opinion does not a captivated audience make.

BONUS:

Here’s a special Halloween treat. Bond is back, bitches. 😛

Next week:

Sunday, be sure to tune in for Revenge and 666 Park Avenue. After Wednesday’s little mix-up on my part, I checked the schedules ahead of time and found out that the reason Grey’s and Elementary will return in two weeks is because the vice presidential debates will be hosted on primetime network TV next Thursday evening. Last Resort is scheduled to air at its usual time.

Looking ahead, next week, we have the premieres of new series, Chicago Fire and Nashville on Wednesday at 10 PM ET, Beauty and the Beast on the CW on Thursday, as well as the return of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia on FX. I may catch up with Beauty and the Beast online next Friday out of mere curiosity, but we’ll see what my schedule looks like then.

Should I catch any decent movies over the weekend, I’ll post the review here.

If not, until Sunday!

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of hurt. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. What doctors talk about viagra or cialis? It contains Sildenafil. Also known as erectile dysfunction is defined as the impossibility to attain an erection suitable for intercourse. Having erectile dysfunction can no doubt complicate dating. Many men take more medicines later in life and some have sexual side effects that will lead to impotency. Some of medications fuel desire. Certain far-famed medicaments can mean screwing with your orgasm. What is the most significant facts you perhaps know know about this?

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
