What an amazing night of television! CBS Premiere Night

25 September 2012 by Jess

Lots to cover, so I’ll get right to it:

How I Met Your Mother

I spent the weekend catching up on some episodes of the past seasons of HIMYM, and I’ve gotta say, this show’s still got it. It’s been on for over 7 years now, and it is still hilarious.

Barney as always is a gut-buster–seducing Klaus’s German sister on the phone, partially in German? Awesome. And Marshall and Lily were a crack-up with their fishbowl exhaustion bit.

The eternal question, will older Ted finally reveal who the mother is? I have a sneaking suspicion it’s not Victoria, whom I loved the first time around and was so sad when she moved to Germany.

Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Partners

This is the only new show to debut on CBS tonight, and I can’t say I’m hooked. I LOVE David Krumholtz, but I gotta see if this one gets funnier. There was quite a bit of drama for a pilot episode of a comedy sitcom, so we’ll have to see where it ends up. I will probably keep watching just to see David Krumholtz who I’ve been enjoying pretty much since 10 Things I Hate About You. The guy is hilarious. I love all the Hebrew colloquialisms too–they may have overdone it a bit, but still enjoyable.

2 Broke Girls

WTF happened with Martha Stewart? The girls were supposed to be getting a big break by meeting her, and I wanted another guest appearance by the queen of all things home-y.

On the other hand, love the casting choice for Caroline’s father, Stephen Weber. This guy has been on my list of must-see people since Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (NBC should be ashamed for cancelling that one). According to IMDB, it looks like he’s only filmed 2 episodes for this season, but I’m hoping for some additional appearances later on.

As always, the show was a little raunch with a little innuendo and a little gross-out humor, which is what America has come to love and expect from this wacky Monday night comedy.

Hawaii Five-0

LOVED IT. I love this show anyway, but this was an awesome first episode. It left off with a hell of a cliffhanger last season with Steve on the hunt for Shelburne and finding his mom, and Chin Ho trying to save his new bride and his beloved cousin Kono. Kono lives, Malia dies. This was expected. I was surprised they even wrote Malia into the show as a wife as she didn’t have a whole lot of history to just become a regular.

Billy Baldwin is the ultimate bad guy. I’m exaggerating, but he was freakin’ awesome as the bad guy on this show. And Wo Fat’s escape from the prison transfer? Legen–wait for it–dary! I know he’s the REALLY bad guy, but seriously, that was a really detailed and elaborate plan, making me think that the budget for this show got a loving boost this season. Which means that we can probably expect to see more insane stunts like that as the season progresses.

Also, I noticed in the credits that Five-0 has a new regular–Steve’s on again off again booty call Catherine. I’m ok with this one. She’s entertaining and she keeps McGarrett on his toes.

What I want to see is Danny finding a good girl. I didn’t like his ex wife from the start, so in this season, I really hope he gets to enjoy a fun, loving relationship with someone who can really take care of him, even if it’s only for a while.

Danny, (aka another one of my favs, Scott Caan) is by far my favorite character, and his storyline is underwritten because the writers seem to think they can’t write anything for him that doesn’t involve his daughter. Of course she’s important to his story, but she doesn’t have to be the center of it, even though that’s kind of his character.

Anyway, Five-0 love. 😀

This Week

It’s gonna be a busy week. We’ve got NBC Tuesdays tomorrow night, plus I’m gonna catch you up on Mob Doctor and Revolution, week 2, tomorrow.

Also, it’s the premiere of Private Practice tomorrow night. I think I’m going to tune in there instead of Parenthood because it is the premiere. Then, throughout the season, I may switch off between the two, whoever has a better trailer for the next week’s episode.

Fox premieres New Girl and Ben and Kate tomorrow night as well, thankfully in the block before Go On and The New Normal (sidenote: just watching a Pantene commerical with the lovely Zooey Deschanel).

And, unfortunately, I just saw a spot for Vegas that has convinced me to watch it on Hulu Wednesday. I’ve been seeing promotions for this show for a few weeks now and it just didn’t interest me, but the text on the muted spot just convinced me to give it a chance.

How’s that for a Tuesday line-up? Expect posts tomorrow (early afternoon?) and Wednesday to cover these episodes.

Make sure to tune in later tomorrow for Monday night catch-up, part two, and then again Wednesday for a recap of Tuesday’s new premieres.

Until tomorrow!

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of pain. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. What doctors talk about viagra or cialis? It contains Sildenafil. Also known as erectile dysfunction is defined as the impossibility to attain an erection suitable for intercourse. Having erectile dysfunction can no doubt complicate dating. Many men take more medicines later in life and some have sexual side effects that will lead to emasculation. Some of medications fuel wish. Certain far-famed medicaments can mean screwing with your orgasm. What is the most significant facts you perhaps know know about this?

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
