Dark and Twisty, Meet Mediocrity

Mob Doctor

This one was actually much better than I expected. The TV spots made it look a little cheesy, but once you see the characters and the dialogue in the context of the show and dialogue, they work.

I’ve liked Jordana Spiro for a long time–truly saddened when My Boys went off the air–but it’s a very different experience seeing her in a dramatic role. She pulls it off pretty well, and it’s a really interesting role to play.

A doctor who is compassionate and sympathetic towards all her patients who’s asked to do things that go against her ethics, not to mention the law on occasion, in order to keep her family together. I hope this one gets picked up, and I hope that the drama continues to grow between her and the life that she’s chosen for herself.

Revolution

Unfortunately, this one was a little more on par with what I was expecting, which wasn’t much. I really can’t understand why NBC keeps trying these Armageddon type of shows (Heroes was good, but a world without electricity? No sale), but they’re not working. There are some pretty people, granted, but not enough to keep my attention.

The dialogue is a little campy, the actors aren’t bad, but the story just did not reel me in. The power goes out, people have to live by making their own tools, food, et cetera. The villains aren’t bad enough and the good guys aren’t good enough. There isn’t enough conflict or suspense to make you wonder about what’s going to happen next.

And the last scene, the woman goes into a heavily locked room and pulls out a little necklace amulet thing, which turns on a working computer and lamp, internet included, and begins IM’ing someone who asks “Did they find it?” Answer: “No.” No shit, Sherlock. She wouldn’t be IM’ing you if they had, would she? Good grief. I could be wrong about to what “it” refers, maybe it’s not the amulet thing, but if it is, dumb question.

I always give new television shows a second, sometimes a third chance to reel me in–believe it or not, Burn Notice didn’t have me hooked with the first episode, but it sure had me with the second!–so I’ll catch Revolution next week on Hulu to offer it a reprieve. (I will be watching the premier of Hawaii Five-0 at nine, so Revolution gets relegated to the Hulu queue.)

However, if Mob Doctor continues like it is, it is going to find itself competing with 2 Broke Girls for my 8 o’clock slot on Monday nights!

Tune in tomorrow for a recap of NBC Tuesday night, week 2, Go On, The New Normal and Parenthood!

It affects chemicals in the body that are involved in the cause of some types of hurt. There are many medicines which give you things you need to be ready on your own terms. What doctors talk about viagra or cialis? It contains Sildenafil. Also known as erectile dysfunction is defined as the impossibility to attain an erection suitable for intercourse. Having erectile malfunction can no doubt complicate dating. Many men take more medicines later in life and some have sexual side effects that will lead to impotence. Some of medications fuel desire. Certain far-famed medicaments can mean screwing with your orgasm. What is the most significant facts you perhaps know know about this?

About the Blog

This is a place to share my love and excessive fandom of film, actors, and television. I gush a lot, and I complain a lot, usually not simultaneously.

I share my take on the latest movies I’ve seen (some new, some new to me, and some classics that are worth a rewatch), and a little promotion here and there for shows or films that I feel deserve a little more attention than they’re getting.

So, kick back, settle in, switch on, tune in, or whatever you have to do and join in on the love for all things that move on-screen.
